Eliza Palter is a Texas-born, Brooklyn-based director, producer, and the Founder and Artistic Director of New Relic Theatre, where she develops new work through conversation with history, outdated forms, and half-remembered cultural artifacts.
She has developed and directed work with the New York Society Library, LubDub Theatre Company, Franklin Performing Arts Company, The Quickening Room, Theatre J, Union Hall, Švandovo Divadlo, and Cherry Lane Theatre. She is an alum of Directors Lab North and trained in directing and devising at Prague’s Academy of Performing Arts.
With a background in performance studies and anthropology, Eliza makes physically inventive, research-driven theatre about how humans communicate, usually unsuccessfully.
